 The Cafetiere can be easily converted from coffee press to regular carafe, and vice-versa. Simply unscrew the mesh filter and remove the pole from the lid. Included
with the Cafetiere is a special plug for the lid to close up the space where the pole runs through. The plug matches the press knob, so from the outside there is no difference in the appearance of the Cafetiere.
