The coffee press is considered, by most coffee experts, the best method for brewing rich, textured coffee. Unlike other methods, the water is not run through the ground coffee beans to extract the flavor. Instead, the coffee press allows the grounds to steep in the hot water, much like tea steeps in hot water in a cup. In fact, the coffee press can also be used with loose tea leaves. So, how does it work?
Itīs simple... First place coffee grounds (measured to your taste) in the coffee press. Second, pour hot (almost boiling) water over the coffee grounds. Third, screw on the lid / press assembly. Wait 4 minutes. Then press down the mesh filter (attached to the knob), unscrew and pour. Simple, right?
